1. Scope of Service

shloop is a community dating platform for verified students. Access is granted subject to these terms and the community guidelines.

2. "Ad-free" — Precise Definition (§6b)

Premium subscribers receive an ad-free experience. For legal clarity under the German Act Against Unfair Competition (UWG) and EU consumer-protection rules, "ad-free" is defined precisely as follows:

• "Ad-free" removes: third-party sponsored/network swipeable cards inserted into the discovery deck. These are paid placements from external advertisers served via Shloop's ad system.
• "Ad-free" does NOT remove: Shloop's own curated community events and listings, including sponsored placements within Shloop Events. These are editorial/community content that Shloop curates and publishes as a product feature, not third-party ad-network inventory. They remain visible to all users, free and premium alike.

Premium removes ads. It doesn't remove Shloop Events — those are curated by us, for you, not generic advertising.

3. Sponsored Content Disclosure

All sponsored swipeable cards carry a clear "Anzeige" / "Sponsored" label and are visually distinct from real profile cards (dashed border, distinct color treatment). Undisclosed advertising is prohibited by German and EU law; Shloop complies fully.

4. Curation Bar

Payment buys visibility, never buys past the curation bar. A business can pay to be featured more prominently among curated options; it cannot pay its way into being featured if it wouldn't otherwise meet safety, quality, and community-fit standards. Curate first, monetize the placement second.
